The African American Museum Celebrates Women's History Month

Exhibit Celebrates Women's History Month by Showcasing Great African American Women & A Local Artist's Unique Creations

Throughout March, AAHMSNJ's featured exhibit will tell the stories of great African American women like civil rights activist Rosa Parks, Sculptor Selma Burke, and millionaire entrepreneur Madam Sarah Spencer-Washington through items from the museum’s collection.
The Museum will also feature recent works by South Jersey artist Lavett Ballard.   Ballard's “Musical Elements” exhibit is the product of her father’s flood-damaged record collection and her creativity.  Her mixed media paintings of visually fractured images incorporate vinyl records, audiotape and other musical content.
