I Want To Thank You! Everybody!

Colette Walsh Kraus From The South Jersey Food Bank and Raymond Tyler

I want to officially and sincerely thank every one that contributed to the success of our Home For The Holiday's Event!

I truly hope we can make it an annual party for a purpose!

First things first...Thanks To The Wonderful People that brought BAGS of can goods that will benefit two organizations one that will help people in direct need in Atlantic City and also The Community Food Bank of New Jersey.

Personally, I hate asking anyone for help. However, God and this moment in history has burdened me with taking up the fight against poverty and hunger.

At this moment I don't know where this fight will end. However, I am convinced that if sacrificing my pride can help some one in need (despite political affiliation, race, or religion) ...I will survive.

___________
Next I want to thank my great sponsors....

Good Night Ron Glass!

I just found out about the passing of Ron Glass. To say I am sad is an understatement.
I spent so many hours watching him work and bring to TV great images of a man of color.
Also he was a great and solid actor on screen.

Barney Miller
All In The Family
Good Times
The New Twilight Zone
The New Odd Couple
Fire Fly
Serenity
and much more!
Selfishly, he was on my wish list of people to interview.

His voice and the performance of his craft is missed already...the hole he leaves in his art...will never be filled.

Saturday Party With Purpose: Saturday November 26th

What: THE HOME FOR THE HOLIDAYS PARTY!
SATURDAY NOVEMBER 26TH AT 6PM

LIVE FROM THE FLAT STONE TAVERN AND GRILL
6105 BLACK HORSE PIKE, EGG HARBORTOWNSHIP, NJ
ADMISSION $20
ADMISSION $10 WITH DONATIONS OF CANNED GOODS AND OR PERSONAL HYGIENE PRODUCTS!

WHY: After this last Presidential Election, I came to the conclusion I have to be more active in being the change I wanted to see in this world.

Although I believe elected officials even Presidents should be offended by the level of poverty and the number of people that go to bed hungry and the number of people homeless. I don't believe anybody that will run for President as a Democrat or Republican care enough to fight poverty or homelessness in any meaningful way.

I can only do what I can. I will however, FIGHT!

So even though I do a yearly drive for those in need.
I am stepping up my efforts this holiday season!

What We Ask Of You: PERSONAL HYGIENE PRODUCTS
These items such as new wash clothes, underwear, tooth paste, lotion, mouth wash, will be donated to The Covenant House Of Atlantic City.

For those unaware. The Covenant House brings in homeless teens and youth. Many times saving them from a life of prostitution or other perils. The Covenant House offers them a safe place to stay. However many come with only the clothes on their backs.

We Also Ask For Canned Goods!

We are working with a local city official from Atlantic City to help provide canned goods for their drive. Every one knows that thousands of people have been let go in Atlantic City
, over the past 5 years. Even many of us that still have gainful employment live paycheck to paycheck. And  if we miss 3 checks, we will find ourselves; hungry, homeless and or in jail.

So I am asking those that can to pick up an extra can or two this year.

We also will be making donations to the local food bank, because there are people that lost jobs in AC that did not live there.

I am humbly asking for your help.

Please come out on Saturday and have a great time at The Flat Stone.
We will have great food, entertainment from Dirty Hand, America's Got Talent's Kelli Glover and headliner, recording artist April Chocolate Girl Williams as well as dancing and some great give a ways.

Also remember, we are cutting the ticket prices in half for help us help our neighbors.

An Open Letter To ANGRY BLACK VOTER...Blame Hillary....

Dear Angry Black Voter,

I admire your passion, for a system that benefits old white men.

I do vote, but I am never under the impression that votes help me or people of color, more than they really do.

I am going to say some hard things like "please grow up" but please hang in there till the end because we need your passion for the days ahead and the change that is needed.

Angry Black Voter, your moaning and complaining about people that voted third party or didn't vote at all is not helping and honestly never helped.

Let's say for argument you are right.
As a Christian I have seen people in my own family try and nag, shout, cry, beg, yell, threaten, drag and shame people to Jesus.
The bottom line is that with Jesus and Voting...some people will believe and some people wont. PERIOD

A. Don't let that ruin what YOU love about the experience.
B. Don't let it make you such a pain in the behind, that the rest of the world just starts to look at you crazy.

We do need you Angry Black Voter, but not to be our " angry voter dads/moms."

__________________________________________________________________________

Now let's look at some things that you may be missing sight of Angry Black Voter!

1. Hillary ran a campaign with a message of "Vote For Me! So he doesn't win."
Trump's campaign was "I'm kicking everybody in the teeth to get what I want for me and my friends." I'm just saying...at least people could tell you WHAT DJ Trump's Campaign was about.
Many people that voted Jill Stein , Gary Johnson or not at all...begged Hillary for a message and issues.

2. Black Turn Out was high.
The few black people that didn't vote would not have turned the election.
And no one should be dragged into a booth to vote for someone they don't believe in, just because you believe in them.

3. White Feminists may have let you down though....
Many of the same white feminists that tell Black women how to love their man and raise their families, turned right around and voted for El Presidente "Coochie" Grabber.
(Although to be honest this may be media hype as well...over all numbers are still coming in.)

4. The System Failed
Hillary Clinton WON the popular vote. More than half the people in the country voted for Hillary and not Trump. Yet , we will get 4 years of Trump.
That is not Jill Stein's fault, or non voters fault....that is the fault of the system you have been preaching about day in and out.

_______________________________________________________________________________

Dear Angry Black Voter,

If you want to engage non voters and third party voters...get back to talking about and working on REAL IDEALS and ISSUES we care about. All the "people who died so you could vote" stuff...not so much.

I am determined to work with anyone and every one that wants to do well...PERIOD.
I am supporting the protests, I am going to maintain the work I have started, I am going to step up and do much of the things that I have wanted DEMOCRATIC LEADERSHIP to do!
For example I have begged the democratic leadership to dismantle the war projects and to fight poverty in America. Since the democratic party seems more interested in trying to woo republicans than to do anything progressive supporters want. (Prison Reform, Ending Poverty and Hunger, Better Education, Universal Healthcare)

I am electing myself to engage in the progressive actions that my party is now afraid to.

Which will be an upcoming Blog...WHAT NEXT....also look for my new e-book due out Black Friday ..."By The Time I Get To 2020."

Next Time: Could The Election Of Donald Trump be The Biggest Mistake The Republicans EVER MADE....? Hold Your Breath for The Progressives On The Net...tune in tomorrow....Same Blog Time...Same Blog Channel.

REAL LOVE: Two Books For Your Family's Election Hang Over

It's Morning in America. And many of  my friends and some people that have labeled me an enemy because I think for myself are sad today. The election of Donald Trump was a swift kick in the pants and basically messed up their last Obama buzz.

Others have told taught their children...Don't Be A Bully, Be Respectful, Be Kind, and Do Not Be a Bigot.

Those things are what we should teach all children.
I live by those words.
However, Roy Ennis (who is wrong most of the time) once said that kindness and respect with out the power to back it up doesn't amount to much. I have agreed with very little Mr. Ennis has ever said in public but I believe that.

It's another morning in America. And parents are wondering WHAT to tell their children today.

If they are a certain age...may I suggest the truth?
If you have not read the books Roots and The Diary Of Anne Frank?
Please do. And if you have? You may have to share the truths enclosed with your family.

This is not a call to get you upset, burn anything or fight anyone.

This is a plea for you to read two books that send powerful messages, needed messages if you have the courage to pay attention.

ROOTS

Shows to what lengths people have gone to build, keep and maintain power.
It also shows what happens when good people run up against bad people with America and The Bible behind them. And FYI , I am a Christian.

The Diary Of Anne Frank breaks my heart even more than Roots does because I always wanted a daughter like Anne. I believe I have a niece every bit as smart and creative and nice a person as Anne.

The message is the same as Roots, plus one more!

You can be as nice as you like....but when good people sit and do nothing as people who aren't good or nice, exercise their power...? We are all in trouble.

The good news is that there is good news and good people out there.
Now it's up to us to look out for and take care of One Another.

4 Groups that aren't THE GOP...that are making me SICK right now.

I have really tried to be patient with some of my friends on facebook.
I am however, about tired of a couple of groups.

EDUCATED BLACK PEOPLE

I'm tired of my educated friends who NOW express disbelief and hurt feelings. During the republican primaries I began having public discussions about the seriousness of a major party candidate saying "Mexicans are rapists." Basically the most educated people I knew told me "sit down, shut up...Trump will never be the nominee." For the record I should have known better because many of them also see "no harm" in reality TV.

CRYING WHITE FRIENDS

I am also tired of "my white" friends that are shocked and "crying."
How many times were you shocked and crying, as people of color in your city were suffering?
Were you paying attention?
These are the "white friends" that like to demand that I feel some way about Bill Cosby and other people of color. They love to tell me how I should feel about my life in America.
They have woken up to a small sample size of what "indifference" to hatred and bigotry can do with a full head of steam.
There was nothing about Donald Trump or the republican party or America that surprised me during the election process. My advice...get it over it. The slap in the face you felt Tuesday...was every Tuesday of my life.

THE SOFT WHITE BIGOT FRIENDS

I am sooooooo tired...of "my white friends" that still refuse to acknowledge that Trump ran his campaign to get out the KKK, skin head, and mild bigot vote.
These are NOT the white people that say..."There are two America's nigger and yours is over there with the second class label." These however are the white people that never understand that at one point in US History...the law said "The Nigger can read and write?...Whip this nigger in front of every one he knows and then hang him." You can explain that this is the same America we in now, til your blue in the face but they won't see it. Worse of all, they don't want to discuss it with people of color or their white friends.

But the king of the late night pizza and , tip top of my list.......

I AM SO TIRED OF BLACK PEOPLE....THE ANGRY BLACK VOTER

News Flash!!!! Those people that were beaten and hosed? Were related to Black folks that didn't vote or actually voted for the people they though was the best person . They also did it for kids that couldn't vote, felons that still can't, slaves that died with out the right to vote. They also did it for people that would never see the point in voting at all.

Here's another news flash. No one died and made you every Black person's momma or daddy.

Last news flash and re occurring theme in my writing MAGIC BULLETS DON'T EXIST.
Ain't no one election that put Black people or the poor or women or gay people in the America we live in now....and this election if Hillary had won would not have changed America into the world we need.

What we could all do today is ...
Number One: Breathe.....(because I was hoping Trump wouldn't win either...hey I have a niece and I don't want to have to catch a case protecting my family but I will.)

Number Two: Get Back Together....I don't KNOW Much....but I know I need my white friends and my black friends...and I know that the republican party are united to keep us down , to keep it WHITE MEN FIRST, LAST AND ALWAYS, and to make sure poverty is a crime (well on that last point the dems have failed too.)

Number Three: Get Rid Of The Magic Bullet thinking
. There is a lot of hard real work and sacrifice to do....and it ain't no "New Math"...it includes investing in Black Business, Going Green and stop supporting industries (even music and television) that de humanize us all. The real work includes developing ideas, writing books/plays, creating art and supporting these things that bring change.
The real work includes being able to talk for real with each other...with out our differences devolving into pissing matches and name calling.
Next Time...5 Reason NOT To Blame Black Folks or 3rd Party Candidates for Trumps Win!
See you next time...Same Blog Time...same Blog Channel.

David Duke Really Did Speak At A Historically Black College Last Night

The young people of the world are supposed to look to the elders to lead and to do what's right.

However, while many "adults" have been waiving fingers at Lil Wayne and people that listen to his music, the administration at The Historically Black College Dillard...rents out a hall for a debate that includes David Duke.

For those that don't know. Duke was once the grand wizard of The Klu Klux Klan.

Some one make me a list of things that could be more bassackwards and disrespectful than a head of The Klan being giving a platform at a Black College...(I'll wait.)

This shows, what I have already known. That the young people we have are the young people whose values we have given them.

I personally have friends that believe too much in America, I have friends that believe too much in Money, these friends scoff at the ideas of God, of Love, of Pride and they believe "Standards" are for sale as well. Now these friends are educated, and they are not 20, or 30 or 35 but older.

Last night as the picture shows...the student body thought more of themselves than to remain quiet as David Duke took the stage. In fact reports say...that Dillard College did not "allow" the student body to attend a debate in their own school.

Many things about this confuse me.

Like why the college didn't just give the money back?

Why did the college want to bar their own students from being able to question David Duke?

I often wonder why people of color are so careful about the feelings of bigoted white folks...when the media and the police ask us any ignorant question they can imagine?

What does not confuse me is how the Black People in charge of a Black College, rent a hall that will host a debate featuring David Duke who has been a infamous figure for more than 20 years.
THAT HAPPENS BECAUSE LIL WAYNE IS NOT THE ONLY BLACK PERSON THAT WILL DO ANY DAMN THIG FOR A DOLLAR!

I am always proud of my people...every day.

Today I am quite proud of my young people...despite the people my age that should have known and acted better.

Why World World One and The Red Baron are The Greatest Things About The Great Pumpkin

It's The Great Pumkin, Charlie Brown first aired October 27, 1966, on CBS, preempting My Three Sons. (The original sponsors - as seen during the original opening sequence, almost never seen afterward in its entirety - were Coca-Cola, the original sponsor of A Charlie Brown Christmas, and the Dolly Madison brand of baked snack foods, which would go on to be a longtime co-sponsor of the Peanuts specials on CBS.)

CBS re-aired the special annually through 2000, with ABC picking up the rights beginning in 2001, where it now airs annually during the Halloween season.

I was watching The Great Pumpkin this afternoon and the way Charles Shultz paid tribute to WW1 ....just blew my mind watching it as an adult.

As a kid..it was probably the thing I cared for the least in the cartoon but as a adult and a writer and an artist....it floors me...and I have seen it every Halloween for 40 plus years.

Charles Shultz' inspiration continues to influence me as I will imagine it will generations of writers and artists for many generations to come.
