Raymond Tyler's Open Letter....No More Kneeling...let's Talk and Work

Dear NBA, Major League Baseball and NFL,

I agree that sitting and kneeling during the playing of The Star Spangled Banner is not an effective (enough) protest!

So here's what I propose.

1st. Make it a requirement that the young black men, white and latino men that make up your labor force get educated on the issues that started this protest. (You did it for homosexuals and domestic abuse.)
Require your players and stars, to be able to discuss Sandra Bland, Tamir Rice and all the other names of un armed and suspiciously killed people at the hands of the police.

THAT'S WHAT THE PROTEST IS ABOUT!
2. Instead of sitting or kneeling.
Have Lebron James, Westbrook, Durant and the key players of each team...actually discuss the actions of rogue police and over policing before and after each NBA Game.
Do the same with the NFL and MLB Players.

Again THIS IS WHAT THE PROTEST IS ABOUT!
3. If you cannot do 1 or 2 and your leagues are concerned about kneeling or sitting and how it makes your league look?
Then release a statement saying. "While we raid the best athletes from the black community for our leagues. Once they sign to play in our leagues...they become our property.
We don't particularly care for the health and welfare of those left.
In other words if black people aren't playing with our ball...they should shut up...buy our tickets, jerseys, hats and shine our shoes."

In closing.

Police Brutality. Murdering people in cold blood on video with no retribution much less an attempt at justice. Also the blanket "criminalling" of whole communities. Over policing. Are not issues you have the "PRIVLEDGE" of playing the fence on. And all people of color do not fall for changing the discussion...the issue is not the anthem. Although I would go for a discussion of the bigotry of the writer before and after the anthem is played each game.

In short I am watching... and this time I am not quite as alone as I have been in the past!

Many of us are keeping score of who are "friends" are and are not...we are keeping score on what side of the fence you stand.

Still love Basket Ball, Football and Base Ball....however, I love people of color, my people and humanity more!
