Good Night Garry Marshall

Last night/this morning.
Garry Marshall passed away at age 81.
The producer brought to the screen many of my favorite TV shows as a youth.
From Happy Days, to Mork and Mindy, to the tv version of The Odd Couple.

He also took his sister Penny Marshall off of The Odd Couple and placed her on the hit show Lavern and Shirley...if you have never seen LAS. Just watch CBS' 2 Broke Girls with out all the sex jokes.

Praying for The Marshall Family as Garry, has inspired me.
I have thought about his approach to honest but family ready storytelling as I have continued to build.

Thanks for the memories and good night.

CLASS...Craig Sager For ESPN

Last Night At The ESPY AWARDS...ESPN Got It Right!

I don't know Craig Sager , personally.

I have publicly questioned the way Sager dresses and maintains that his clothing style is a reflection of "white privilege" in the media industry. (There is no way a black man could dress as he does and work NBA games.)

I also believe that Sager is one of the best sideline and in game interviewers that the NBA has ever had.  I respect everyone that reports from a microphone at whatever level as a colleague and I know, it's always HARDER than it LOOKS or SOUNDS!

When it was reported that Sager has cancer, I ...WAS...FLOORED. And on my broadcast we did every thing but prayed for him on the air...and I said prayers for him and everyone afflicted off the air.

When ESPN "hired" Sager...to do sideline reporting during THE NBA FINALS this year....it was one of the classiest moves I ever saw. It was one of the few times, I felt I did not have to apologize for being a part of the media.

Seeing the whole Turner (Sager's regular media employer) Family come to The ESPY's and for rival company ESPN to recognize and celebrate Sager was truly a class thing to do.

You have never met me Mr. Sager. However, if this some how gets to you....as you are a colleague... my staff and I ..love you (and what you call fashion......just joking) and respect your skills. Most of all we love you and we want you to keep fighting.....and we look forward to seeing you at The 2017 Finals.
